We are hiring a voice teacher to join us at our after-school theatre & music studio! You will work mainly with younger students ages 8-16; however, we have some interested students who are outside of that range. You will have the freedom to choose which students you would like to work with and what days/times you would like to work. Most of our students are available during the hours of 4:00-8:00PM on Monday-Friday, but you are welcome to schedule lessons outside of those days and times if you find a better option for you and your student(s). You must be able to handle some administrative tasks – keeping track of your student schedule, communicating with students and/or their parents, logging lesson payments, etc. You will help prepare your students for auditions, competitions, recitals, and other upcoming performances.

We are looking for someone who can create a fun and relaxed environment for their students, so they will feel comfortable being vulnerable and open. It is important that you are patient and understanding since you will mostly be working with younger individuals. You must be on time (arrive before your lessons begin). You must be able to provide your students with the materials they need to be successful in their lessons. Basic piano accompaniment skills are a bonus, but not necessary; however, you must have some experience with piano and be able to read music. Training will be provided for administrative tasks. If you are comfortable with Zoom, you can schedule lessons with your students outside of the studio as well.

Voice Teacher Responsibilities:

• Creating individual lessons based on student’s preferences and goals.
• Providing students with appropriate materials and resources.
• Showing up on time (early) for scheduled lessons
• Teaching some music theory, helping students grow in their sight-reading, memorization, improvising techniques, and/or other music-related goals.
• Creating a relaxed and fun environment that helps students feel comfortable.
• Providing constructive feedback and adjusting to the student’s needs and learning style.

Voice Teacher Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in music is preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Current music majors are welcome to apply.
• Previous experience as a music teacher preferred.
• Good communication skills

Job Type: Part-time

Rate: The pay is dependent on the number of students you take on.

• $40/Hour Lesson
• $30/45 Minute Lesson
• $20/Half Hour Lesson

Schedule:

• Flexible
