Spring Musical (3rd – 9th Grade and 4th-12th)

Our Jr. shows are for performers in grades 3rd – 9th, and 4th-12th. In our musical theatre productions we limit the number of actors per cast, to ensure quality of instruction and experience for each young actor. All young performers are guaranteed a speaking and/or solo singing role in the production as well as singing and dancing throughout the entire show.

Legally Blonde Jr.

Music & Lyrics By: Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin;
Book By: Heather Hach

Legally Blonde JR. follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. When Elle’s boyfriend, Warner, dumps her and heads to Harvard, claiming she’s not “serious” enough, Elle takes matters into her own hands, crafting a showy song-and-dance personal essay and charming her way into law school. Befriending classmate, Emmett, and spunky hairdresser, Paulette, along the way, Elle finds that books and looks aren’t mutually exclusive.  As Elle begins outsmarting her peers, she realizes that law may be her natural calling after all.

Based on the award-winning Broadway musical and the smash hit motion picture, Legally Blonde The Musical JR. is a fabulously fun journey of self-empowerment and expanding horizons. The show’s instantly recognizable songs are filled with humor, wit and sass!

What make’s Roots’ School of Theatre different?

✨ The All-Inclusive Price & Small-Cast Guarantee

One Price. Zero Stress. Every Performer Shines.

When you register for a full-semester production at Roots’ School of Theatre, you aren’t just signing your child up for weekly classes—you’re securing a completely hassle-free, high-quality theatrical experience for your performer and your family.

  • Guaranteed Roles (No Audition Required to join the production): We strictly limit our cast sizes to ensure personalized, elite instruction. Because our cast sizes are small, every single performer is guaranteed a part with spoken lines and/or musical solos. No one gets lost in a massive ensemble. (Auditions are still required so directors can determine casting)
  • No Extra Fee just to audition.
  • No Costume Sourcing: We design, source, and provide almost all your performer’s high-quality costumes and props. Some basic undergarments or very simple costume pieces may need to be provided (these are items you probably already have at home). No specialty shoes or expensive dance attire is required.
  • No Mandatory Volunteering: Your time is valuable. We never require parents to work weekends, set-building, or backstage chaperone shifts. No need to serve on a committee.
  • Free Performance Tickets: Your registration includes complimentary tickets for parents, family, and friends to watch the final semester showcase. No hidden box-office fees at checkout.

Your job is to drop them off at rehearsals, show up for the performances, and enjoy the show!

The Real Cost: Premium vs. “Budget” Programs

Don’t let a lower base tuition fool you. Traditional semester programs frequently rely on hidden fees, surprise production charges, and mandatory parental labor to cross the finish line. Here is how our all-inclusive model compares to the hidden costs of typical multi-month programs:

Expense Category Typical “Budget” Semester Show Our All-Inclusive Semester Show
Base Tuition Lower upfront cost (e.g., $224-$475+) $900
Costumes & Main Props $75.00+ (Often a surprise fee mid-semester) $0.00 (Included)
Show Tickets (Family & Friends) $100.00+ (Multiple tickets over the run) $0.00 (Fully Included)
Mandatory Parent Labor Buyout $100-$300 (If you cannot work set build days or join a committee) $0.00 (Zero hours required)
Cast Dynamics Overcrowded casts (Many get no lines or solos) Small Cast (Lines and/or solos guaranteed) – Priceless
The Parent Experience Stressed by deadlines, supply runs, and chores Frictionless. Relax and watch them shine.

"Theatre is immediate, it's alive, you're there with the audience, it can't be done again and again and again and again, it's organic" ~ Kim Cattrall
